BAE Systems is seeking a SHE Specialist to support the Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) Teams in the execution of program activities, as directed, at the Radford Army Ammunition Plant (RFAAP). In this role as a RFAAP SHE Specialist, you will support the effectiveness of the site’s SHE management systems by transforming data, trends, and field inputs into actionable insight for site leadership, enabling them to focus on the right actions at the right time.
Your included tasks:
Own the collection, quality, and structure of SHE-related data including incidents, near misses, audits, observations, corrective actions, and leading indicators
Maintain dashboards and reporting tools that provide clear, timely, and meaningful visibility to leadership
Analyze SHE data to identify trends, recurring issues, systemic weaknesses, and leading indicators
Identify gaps between system design and execution based on performance indicators
Support management reviews, system assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives
Prepare concise, insight-driven summaries for leadership reviews that clearly articulate key risks, trends, system health, and recommended focus areas
Translate the data while advising leaders on the best course of action
Support integration of SHE data into broader business performance dashboards, where appropriate
Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
• Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Business, Safety, Engineering, or related field and four years of experience in business or SHE data analytics, reporting, or performance management or the overall equivalent
• Highly effective communication skills, verbal and written, including experience with technical writing
• Strong analytical skills with experience in dashboards, data visualization, and trend analysis
• Computer skills, to include Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook, etc.) and PDF editing software, including Adobe Acrobat and/or Bluebeam
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• A critical thinker with proven problem-solving skills
• Self-motivated and detail-oriented
• Ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insight
• Ability to maneuver through typical obstacles presented on manufacturing and construction sites
• Ability to lift and push/pull up to 50 lbs. as well as climb ladders
• Note: Respirator use is required in some areas, and employees may be subject to seasonal weather variations
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Knowledgeable in safety and health regulations and modern safety management principles
Experience supporting SHE or operational management systems
Ability to act independently to quickly recognize when issues need to be elevated and when additional support is required
Experience with Microsoft Power BI or other data visualization software
Experience with Enablon or other SHE management software
Familiarity with incident management systems, audit tools, and corrective action tracking
Experience in reporting and presentation development
Knowledge of ISO-based management systems or continuous improvement frameworks
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $88189 - $149922

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
