Summary
This position is located in Big Cypress National Preserve, in the Division of Facilities Management. This position is Career/Career-Conditional Full-time appointment. Travel, transportation, and relocation expenses will be paid if the selectee lives outside of the local commuting area and is otherwise eligible for reimbursement of relocation expenses in accordance with the Federal Travel Regulation.
Major Duties
The primary purpose of this position is to supervise trades and labor work on a regular, recurring, and substantially full-time and continuing basis. As a supervisor, the incumbent applies experience in and knowledge of trades and labor work in order to exercise technical and administrative supervision over a variety of subordinate trades occupations. Provide technical and administrative supervision over subordinates performing various trades and labor occupations such as Maintenance Mechanic, Maintenance Worker, Electrician, Engineering Equipment Operator, Mason, Utility Systems Repairer-Operator, Air Conditioning Equipment Mechanic, Plumber, Wood Crafter, Carpenter, etc. Develop and review estimates, technical reports, plans, and specifications; project labor, equipment, and material requirements; and develop financial plans. Build and maintain effective cooperative partnerships, establishing and maintaining working relationships with management, district supervisors, vendors, contractors, cooperating organizations, partnership associations, concessionaires, government agencies, community and volunteer groups, environmental organizations, and other special interest groups. Responsible for ensuring equal opportunity for all employees supervised, and in the selection of employees for training, promotions, awards and recognition, and career development opportunities. Ensures that safety rules are followed, monitors work in progress for proper sequence, procedures, methods, and meets deadlines. Reports to supervisor on progress of work and causes of work delays; answers questions of supervisor on overall work operations and status.
