Summary
This announcement is open to LOCAL applicants who reside with a radius of 85 miles from the official duty station: 6400 US-89 N, Flagstaff, AZ 86004. You will serve as a Maintenance Worker Leader (Roads/Trails) within the Flagstaff Area National Monuments. Career-Seasonal appointments are permanent positions. Major Duties
This position is in the Facility Management Division of Flagstaff Area National Monuments and is supervised by the Maintenance Mechanic Supervisor. The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Maintenance Worker Leader to lead others in the application of trade skills in trails, roads, rigging, and equipment operations for operations and maintenance purposes. In the absence of the Supervisor, the incumbent may serve as Acting Maintenance Mechanic Supervisor, supervising park employees in daily operations. Lead others in the application of trade skills in trails, roads, rigging and equipment operations, for operations and maintenance purposes. Maintain current knowledge and answer questions of other workers on procedures, policies, written instructions, and other directives. Ensure necessary safety protocols, plans, materials, supplies, equipment, and tools are available when needed; and recommend operation needs based on work requests to supervisor. Perform fieldwork including mowing, pavement maintenance, masonry, building maintenance, and custodial services. Assist with asset and financial management, payroll, evaluations, and various internal controls. Additionally, this position performs the following non-supervisory work in at least two or more of the following occupations involved in the maintenance and repair of grounds, trails, exterior structures, buildings and related fixtures, requiring the use of a variety of trade practices; Masonry, Road Maintenance, Snow Plowing, Enfineering Equipment Operation and Trail Maintenance.
