Location: This position will be based in Juinagar, Navi Mumbai. Role and Responsibilities • Develop, modify, and maintain detailed 3D mechanical CAD models and assemblies using SolidWorks. • Create and update manufacturing drawings, fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, and detailed part drawings in accordance with engineering standards. •Manage engineering data and CAD documents within PLM/PDM systems such as Teamcenter, Windchill, Agile, or SolidWorks PDM •Ensure proper release, revision control, and lifecycle management of CAD models, drawings, specifications, and engineering documents. •Support Engineering Change Requests (ECR), Engineering Change Notices (ECN), and Engineering Change Orders (ECO) through the PLM workflow. • Design and optimize mechanical components, sheet metal parts, fabricated structures, and assemblies for functionality, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness. • Support Bill of Materials (BOM) creation, drawing releases, and Engineering Change Requests/Orders (ECR/ECO). • Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and cost-reduction principles during product development. • Ensure compliance with company design standards, quality requirements, and documentation practices. • Perform tolerance stack-up analysis and support fitting, assembly, and interfacing requirements. • Maintain CAD libraries, standard parts, templates, and design databases. • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes such as machining, sheet metal fabrication, welding, casting, and assembly techniques. Skills and Experience • Strong proficiency in 3D Mechanical CAD in SolidWorks – Part Modeling, Sheet Metal and Assembly. • Experience in creating detailed manufacturing drawings, assemblies, and product documentation. • Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) and engineering drawing standards (ASME Y14.5 / ISO standards). • Understanding of material selection, standard mechanical components, and manufacturing processes. • Exposure to PLM/PDM tools such as Teamcenter, Windchill, Agile, or SolidWorks PDM. • Knowledge of DFM/DFA principles and engineering change management processes. Degree and Qualification • Diploma / bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline. • Formal training or certification in SolidWorks. • Certification or coursework in SolidWorks Mechanical is preferred. • Knowledge of GD&T and engineering drawing standards is desirable. Preferred Experience • 2–4 years of experience in Mechanical CAD Design, PDM, or PLM environments. Exposure to global engineering organizations with controlled design release processes • Familiarity with prototype development, manufacturing support, and product lifecycle management processes. • Experience in industrial equipment, automotive, aerospace, energy, or manufacturing industries preferred.
