This position is contingent upon contract award.
JOB OVERVIEW:
Valiant Integrated Services is seeking an Environmental Manager with recent managerial or past working experience with facilities maintenance and operations supporting military installation operations to oversee our Environmental program efforts at a potential contract supporting the US Navy on the West Sound Base Operations Support (BOS) contract in Kitsap County Washington and the surrounding area.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
The Environmental Manager will:
• Act as liaison between the Contractor, SPAR, and Installation Environmental Office on environmental matters.
• Ensure referenced environmental training is attended by Contractor and subcontractor personnel and properly documented
• Ensure Contractor and subcontractor activities are in compliance with installation, NAVFAC, state, federal, and local regulations and the environmental requirements of the contract
• Ensure all documents, records, permits and other environmental data required by state, federal, local regulations, and the contract are maintained by the Contractor and provided as requested.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• A minimum of three consecutive years’ experience in Hazardous waste management and hazardous substance spill response.
• A minimum of two years experience in
o Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasures (SPCC) management.
o Underground Storage Tank (UST) management.
• Specialized Training (if not currently held may be taken prior to contract start):
o Site supervisor for spill cleanup in accordance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations 29 CFR 1910.
o Minimum of 40 hours of hazardous waste management training
o Minimum 16 hour course in hazardous material transportation
o All refresher training requirements shall be kept up-to-date.
• In addition, it is desired but not required that the successful candidate have experience or related education in Storm Water Pollution Prevention, Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know (EPCRA), Clean Air Act, Pollution Prevention, Safe Drinking Water Act, National Environmental Policy Act, Endangered Species Act, National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System, and Lead Paint/Asbestos management requirements and regulations.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelors Degree, (experience may substitute)
• Prior military service desired but not required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Must be able to travel to job locations by automobile and commercial airline.
• Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds on a regular basis.
• Must be able to work in the sitting position for 8 or more hours per day.
• Must be able to walk/travel to various locations within the facility and satellite locations to perform inspections.
• Must be able to work at a computer station for extended periods of time.
