Compensation: $165K - $180k + bonus
Travel: Up to 40%, particularly during outage season

Position Overview:
Reporting to the Director of Outages and Major Maintenance, the Fleet Outage Manager will oversee a diverse fleet of gas turbine-generators, steam turbine-generators, and supporting ancillary equipment. This professional supports operations across 23 generating facilities totaling 14 GW nationwide.
Role and Key Responsibilities:
- Champion safety by ensuring equipment condition and operation meet industry and company standards.
- Provide technical leadership for planned major maintenance and forced outages.
- Hands on participation in fleet-wide outage management processes, ensuring best practices in scope, schedule, and cost control.
- Develop and oversee detailed outage plans, including scope definition, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
- Ensure OEMs adhere to Long-Term Service Agreements (LTSAs) requirements.
- Make informed technical decisions regarding equipment condition, including remediation strategies for non-conforming components.
- Conduct root cause analyses and develop mitigation plans for turbine-generator deficiencies.
- Full-time onsite supervision of repairs and inspections during scheduled and unscheduled outages. Candidate is expected to be onsite for designated major maintenance outages seasonally, or unplanned outage should one occur.
- Ensure successful project execution across safety, quality, budget, and schedule metrics.
- Oversee the selection, contracting, and performance of third-party vendors and contractors supporting Major Maintenance outages.
- Maintain strong vendor and contractor relationships and stay current on industry advancements.
- Support construction, equipment testing, and commissioning activities.
- Provide regular updates to all stakeholders.
- Conduct post-outage reviews to identify areas for improvement and implement revised best practices for future outages.
- Represent the company professionally in all internal and external engagements.
Professional Requirements:
- B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or other B.S. Engineering Degree from an accredited institution.
- 5+ years of experience in the power generation industry, with at least 2 years managing outages.
- Deep understanding of gas and steam turbine systems, generators, and auxiliary equipment.
- Expertise in at least one of the main OEM technologies (GE, Siemens, Mitsubishi, etc.) and major maintenance procedures.
- Familiarity with failure modes, materials, and systems in power plants, oil & gas, or marine propulsion.
- Working knowledge of relevant codes and standards (ASME, ASTM, ANSI, IEEE, OSHA).
- Proficiency with project management tools like Primavera P6 and Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel.
- Previous field experience (e.g., TFA, FE, commissioning technician) across diverse regions in North America.
