Position Summary
This role is responsible for leading all aspects of port terminal operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant handling of commodities. This position will oversee daily operations, including vessel, rail, barge, and truck logistics, while driving performance in safety, productivity, cost management, and customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
Lead daily port terminal operations ensuring scheduling and throughput efficiency
Lead facility safety programs to drive and ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, EPA, USCG, and company policies
Establish and execute our feed ingredient rail unloading and vessel loading program
Develop and maintain strong relationships with the Port and Coast Guard, ensuring our facility consistently remains in full compliance with all regulations
Establish and maintain strong relationships with third party resources, including staffing agencies, contractors, and logistics partners
Establish and drive daily operational goals for the location leveraging clear and consistent communications
Collaborate on budgetary and capital plans through a team approach along with the Director of Operations and Profit Center Manager
Project and develop a strategic 3 – 5 year capital plan for facility
Ensure facility maintenance is being planned and completed in a disciplined time frame, both preventative and long term
Monitor and track the logistics, flows, and processing of grain to ensure the facility is maximizing profitability and minimizing shrink
Drive continuous training and development of direct reports, and monitor the training and development of teams reporting up through your direct reports
Report and analyze the financial impact of all facility operations in your business

Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree preferred
7-10 years’ relevant experience required
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
Experience in terminal or grain export operations preferred
Familiarity with rail and barge logistics preferred
Capital project exposure and leadership required
Physical Requirements and Working Environment
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working at a computer
Must be able to stand for an extended period of time
Ability to frequently lift/push/pull up to 75 pounds
Must be able to climb/stoop/kneel at heights up to 180 feet
Works indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions and temperatures
Working conditions could include dust, fumes, moderate noise and uneven surfaces
May require extended hours and on-call support to support the 24/7 operation
