DescriptionSaint Michael's College invites applications for a Graduate Assistant for the Institute for the Environment(I4E). The College is seeking a qualified and passionate graduate student to support faculty in designing and delivering enhanced environmental education through hands-on, experiential outdoor learning. This role partners closely with instructors to integrate the outdoor classroom into engaging, real-world learning experiences. As a member of the I4E team, you will promote sustainability education and foster a culture of environmental stewardship across campus. The position contributes to and implements initiatives aligned with the college’s strategic plan, Forward with Purpose. Ideal candidates are enthusiastic about sustainability, skilled in collaboration, and committed to advancing innovative educational practices.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Meet and coordinate with Katy Farber, Assistant Director of Teaching and Learning weekly to organize, plan, and discuss upcoming events and goals.
- Organizing, planning, tracking projects, and communicating project logistic and follow up using Project Management Software
- Lead outreach, tracking, and logistics to support I4E projects and school visits
- Track and collect data for teaching and learning projects and write blogs to help with campus and community communications about T& L events/activities
- Coordinate outreach with a focus beyond the college and community using the Institute's resources and programs
- School outreach and coordination with K-12 schools/teachers
- Engage in professional development opportunities.
- Support undergraduate Ed students with planning and preparing lessons, activities, and materials for school field trips led by undergrad Ed classes
- Foster use of technology and streamlining systems and tools to maximize resources within the Institute.
- Assist with Institute and Admission events
- Assist with projects and other duties as assigned.
Compensation:Tuition at $675/credit up to 18 credits per academic year PLUS stipend of $20.00/hour for 16 hours/week If credits are for an independent study they can not be reimbursed/remission does not apply.

Eligibility:
To be eligible for this position, applicant must be an admitted student in a Graduate program at Saint Michael’s College. The three programs include Graduate Education, Graduate Clinical Psychology, and Graduate TESOL.
Note: Students who will be student teaching or interning full-time in the spring semester are not eligible.
