Summary
This position is located in Badlands National Park.
Major Duties
As an Administrative Officer your duties will include but are not limited to the following: Performs all aspects of administrative and technical supervision of subordinate staff, including recruitment, hiring, training, performance management, counseling, and taking disciplinary action as appropriate. Supervision and leadership of people responsible for budget, property, information technology, property management, government charge card program, procurement, internal controls, and more. Serves as an engaged and integral member of the park's leadership team, participating in planning and development of park-wide plans, programs, procedures, operating policies, internal controls, and program goals. Responsible for keeping park's revenues and spending in balance. Director budget and financial management staff in accurately establishing accounts, tracking expenditures and obligations, and continuously reviewing accounts to provide updates and recommendations for changes. Participates as a full member of the leadership team in formulating and updating budgets. Closely tracks and helps manage a large recreational fee expenditure program. Contributes to year end closeout of accounts to within .1% of allocations. Internal Controls. Responsible for developing procedures and establishing a program of internal controls, audits, and reviews to eliminate waste, prevent fraud, and ensure accuracy and accountability of charge card use, fee collection and remittance, budget expenditures, procurement, and other programs. Coordinates accurate completion of park's A-123 report response. Manages the park's housing program, including rate reviews and adjustments, payroll deductions for rent, and inspections. Works cooperatively with personnel in the park's facility management division to ensure housing maintenance issues are identified and completed. Provides support and assistance to the park superintendent in overseeing the park's concession management program and commercial use authorizations. Conducts periodic evaluations of the concession operation.
