Summary
Career-Seasonal appointments are permanent positions and include the same benefits as Career appointments, but do not provide work on a year-round basis. For these vacancies, one position will work from late November through October. The other position will work late December through late November. These positions will be in a non-pay status for the remainder of the year.
Major Duties
This position is located in Lake Clark National Park and Preserve in the Maintenance Division. Duties of the position include, but are not limited to the following: Perform carpentry tasks including repairing and installing building components (doors, windows, trim, cabinets, siding, steps) using standard hand and power tools. Apply paints and stains to interior/exterior surfaces; prepares surfaces; clean and maintain painting tools and equipment. Conduct basic plumbing repairs including replacing fixtures, valves, pipes; cut/thread piping; winterize water systems. Patch and repair various roof types; remove and replace roofing materials to ensure leak-proof, well-drained surfaces. Make basic electrical repairs by replacing or tightening wiring and fixtures using standard electrical tools. Build and set simple concrete forms; mix, pour, place, and finish concrete; repair damaged concrete surfaces. Perform custodial duties (cleaning, trash removal, floor care); assist with labor tasks such as trail work, sign installation, unloading supplies, snow removal, timber work, and drainage clearing. Operate and maintain vehicles, trucks, dump trucks, snow plows, and forklifts; perform minor vehicle maintenance tasks.
