Job Description Summary
As Senior Sourcing Manager – Supply Chain Resilience, you'll lead a critical initiative that protects the supply chain underpinning some of the world's most important energy infrastructure. You'll assess risk, build sourcing strategies, and drive measurable outcomes across Gas Power's global supplier base — while leading a small, high-impact team.
Job Description
What You'll Do
Lead the Global Supply Chain Resilience initiative — own regional and commodity risk assessments across Gas Power, track progress against risk reduction targets, and brief senior leaders regularly on findings and recommendations. Balance strategy development with tactical execution to execute risk mitigation efforts while considering SQDC improvements through contract negotiation, process changes, and implementation of sustainable cost controls and supplier performance objectives.
Shape sourcing strategy — partner with Global Commodity Leaders (GCLs) and regional Project Procurement Managers (PPMs) to build resilient, dual-sourced supply chains that deliver variable cost productivity and healthy cash flow.
Drive cost and localization outcomes — identify and implement direct material productivity ideas in collaboration with engineering and supplier quality teams to minimize total landed cost.
Manage the full supplier lifecycle — lead supplier selection, qualification, and development for target commodities, and manage commercial supplier relationships from sourcing strategy through contract execution. Develop technical and market expertise for target commodities
Negotiate and deliver results — secure the best total cost and cash flow terms without compromising quality, and meet Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) tied to the Supply Chain Resilience and Risk Mitigation plan.
Connect across the business — interface with GE Vernova sourcing teams globally, contribute to company-wide strategic sourcing initiatives, and align cross-functionally with logistics, commercial, and engineering partners.
Who You Are
You're a commercially minded sourcing professional who can build strategy and execute it — someone who is equally comfortable in a supplier negotiation, a leadership briefing, and a data model. You bring a collaborative approach, a track record of influencing without authority, and a genuine passion for building supply chains that last.
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
Major commercial experience in sourcing, sales, commercial operations, and/or supply chain management
Significant experience in sourcing, and/or managing commodities
Fluent English knowledge is essential
Preferred
Master's degree in Finance, Business, or Engineering
GE Vernova Leadership Program experience in FMP, OMDP, CAS (preferred but not mandated)
Experience in supplier selection, contract implementation, and sourcing strategy development
Strong quantitative and data analysis skills — comfortable working with spend data, supplier scorecards, and cost models
Familiarity with purchasing and procurement systems (e.g., SAP, Ariba, or equivalent)
Lean, Kaizen, or equivalent process improvement experience; Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) or APICS certification is a plus
Strong project management skills with the ability to drive change and influence across all levels of an organization
Excellent communication skills — written, verbal, and executive presentation
