This position serves as the Superintendent with responsibility for the preservation, interpretation, maintenance, administration, and the safety and well-being of staff, volunteers, and visitors at Flagstaff Area Parks. Major Duties
This position is located within the Department of the Interior, National Park Service, Intermountain Region, Flagstaff area parks. Flagstaff Areas (FLAG) includes: Sunset Crater National Monument Walnut Canyon National Monument Wupatki National Monument At the full performance level (GS-14) the major duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following: Determines strategic direction, goals, and objectives for National Park Service. Responsible for all aspects of management of the park through subordinate staff including planning and programming, public relations, administration, resource management, safety, interpretation, visitor services, and facilities maintenance. Fosters and maintains external relationships and partnerships, such as with community organizations, Native American tribes, elected officials, stakeholders and partners. Ensures compliance with all federal laws and National Park Service (NPS) policies, ensuring that the park's financial and other resources are used strategically and effectively to meet NPS objectives. Salary Range Information (Per Annum): GS-14: $125,776 - $163,514 per annum *First time hires to the federal government typically start at the beginning salary in the range for their respective grade level.
