Position Overview
The Benefit Compliance Associate will focus on compliance and reporting related to benefits, ensuring all plans and processes comply with a complex set of laws, including the ACA, ERISA, and HIPAA.
This position will be on-site at Invenergy's downtown Chicago, IL office.
Responsibilities
Regulatory Compliance & Reporting
Ensure allbenefitsplans and related processescomply withACA, ERISA, HIPAA, and other applicable regulations.
Configure Workday to generate 1094/1095‑C forms; review, reconcile, and distribute required ACA reporting.
Supportannual 401(k) andFSAnon-discrimination testing,preparingand reviewing census information,and coordinate required corrective actions.
Support annual 401(k) audits, including data gathering and auditor requests.
Calculate 401(k) profit-sharing contributions, supporttrue‑ups, andassistwith SPD/SBC distribution requirements.
Partner with benefit broker to prepare and update Form 5500 and WRAP documents.
Complete andsubmitForm M1, CMS creditable/non-creditable coverage disclosures,RxDCfilings, PCORI fee submissions, and Gag Clause Prohibition Compliance Attestation.
Partner internally to provide mandatory reporting in relation to prevailing wage requirements under the Inflation Reduction Act.
Benefits Operations & Reconciliation
Performsemi-monthly/monthly payroll-to-benefits and vendor reconciliations to ensure accuracy of deductions, invoices, and enrollment data.
Manage benefits billing, including forecasting, opening purchase orders, coding invoices inERP, and ensuringtimelypayment.
Prepare benefit censuses for annual renewals andvalidatepremiums against carrier data.
Reconcile 401(k) contributions each payroll cycle to ensure accuracy between payroll, recordkeeping systems, and vendor files.
Partner with Payroll to reconcile fringe requirements under Inflation Reduction Act.
Vendor & Internal Partnership Support
Collaborate with third-party administrators, benefits carriers, payroll, finance, and HR technology teams to resolve data discrepancies and support ongoing plan administration.
Assistwith process improvements, system configuration updates, and documentation to enhance benefits compliance and operational efficiency.
Strong understanding of federaland state benefit regulations.
5 years of human resources experience.
3years experiencewithbenefitscomplianceadministration.
High attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
Intermediate Excel skills.
Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer visa sponsorship now or in the future
Experience managing benefits in Workday HCM.
Experience with billing Oracle ERP.
Experience navigating benefit requirements related to federal contracts and the Inflation Reduction Act.
Familiarity with GAAP.
$95,000.00 - $118,000.00 USD Annual
Bonus: 20% - 30%
The base pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target salary for the position. Invenergy considers a number of factors when determining base pay offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education and skills.
