This position is located on-site at Fort Stewart, Georgia, supporting Aerostar Environmental LLC contract with the Fort Stewart Environmental & Natural Resources Division. This position will be assisting in project tasks necessary to ensure compliance with Clean Air Act, Georgia air regulations, and Fort Stewart’s and Hunter Army Airfield’s Title Vs.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
The Essential Duties and Responsibilities are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties, but not all duties performed for this position. Other duties may be assigned.
Conducting compliance inspections
Field data collection and mapping
Technical project reviews and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) impact assessments
Conveying air program information, needs, and issues with senior officials.
Maintenance of compliance records and emissions inventories
Working with and/or implementing record-keeping and air data management systems
Providing input on program logistics and development of operational plans
Building working relationships with federal, state, and private entities
Drafting technical reports
Data analysis and conclusions presentation
Assisting in Compliance Audits, Annual Reporting, and Training
Supporting Air Permitting Actions
Minimum Qualifications:
To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The qualifications listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Candidates shall be knowledgeable in basic air quality principles and possess between 5-10 years of experience dealing with Georgia air quality standards, permit-required reporting, and record keeping.
Candidates must possess a Bachelor of Science in the Environmental Sciences or Engineering and may be required to obtain and maintain one or more of the necessary Georgia certificates of competence for the work they are performing
EPA Method 9 Certified
Must have the ability to provide technical environmental assistance/ consultation and meet client needs, expectations, and shifting priorities/ timelines.
Should have a proven track record of successful regulatory work in dealing with the EPA, Georgia EPD, and other similar agencies.
Candidates must have excellent written and oral communication skills and have proficiency in computer applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in environmental compliance is a plus.
Experience with Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and Air modeling software is a plus.
Additional Qualifying Factors:
As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening (post accepted offer) and have acceptable background check results. If applicable to the contract, you must also obtain the appropriate clearance levels required and be able to obtain access to military installations.

This position requires the ability to maneuver around work sites, see, hear, and verbally communicate with co-workers and clients. Essential and marginal functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for bending, stooping, sitting, walking or standing for prolonged periods of time; frequent opportunity to move about and to work outside the office environment for extended periods involving exposure to the elements with weather that will include extreme heat, cold, wind, rain or other inclement weather, walking over rough and uneven surfaces, and routine lifting of up to 35 pounds. If required, must properly use personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times including but not limited to: hard hats, steel toed boots, eye protection, respiratory protection, and hearing protection. Must always maintain a constant state of mental alertness.
Working Conditions
Job is performed in a combination of office and outdoor site locations. The office setting includes exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, and mouse. Outdoor settings include walking, driving, and carrying supplies throughout all seasons with exposure to heat and cold conditions, and potentially wildlife. Is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and loud noise.
