Role Overview
Fluenceisseekingan energetic and experiencedSeniorManager of Policy and Advocacyfocusedto supportourenergy storage productsand services,andoptimization software for renewables and storage. In this role, you will play a pivotal role indeveloping andshapinglegislativeandregulatorypolicyrelated tothe production,sale, andoperationofenergystoragesolutionsto promote and speedthe energy transition. Your area of focus will bemanagingpolicy and advocacy in U.S.Central and Western States, in addition to data center and Regional Transmission Organization/Independent System Operator (RTO/ISO) policies nationally.This role willreport to our VP of Policy and Advocacy.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and executelegislative andregulatory strategies to shapepoliciesin favor of energy storage, addressing complexlegislation,regulations,andassociatedproposals.
Adviseand present toFluenceleadershipon energy storagepoliciesat local,regional, andnationallevels and proactively influencepolicychanges tobenefitenergy storagesolutions.
RepresentFluence,foster relationships,and advocate for the company's interests withelectedand appointed officials,regulatory agencies, industry groups, andother keystakeholders,including Fluence’s current and prospective customers and suppliers.
Handle the preparation and submission of necessarypolicy advocacydocuments and associated collateral,eitherprepareddirectly by Fluenceorby third partiesrepresentingFluence’s interests (e.g.industry groups). This includesfact sheets, comments,filings, and other associated documentation.
Collaborateacross thecompanyto ensurecurrent and prospective legislative and regulatorycompliance, including supporting customer and supplier compliance as needed.
Offerexpertiseonutility planning and procurement,environmental,safety,trade,permitting,interconnectionand market designto supportthe executionofFluencestrategy.
Support and contribute to policy and advocacy related public relations and marketing efforts and associated campaigns.
Manage and collaborate withgovernment affairs and regulatory consultantsas needed toeffectuate the responsibilities listed above.
Required Qualifications and Experience
An undergraduatedegreeis.
Minimum7-10years of experience inlegislative and regulatorypolicy and advocacywithintheenergysector, including a minimum of 3 years either directly or indirectly managing a team.Experience withrenewable energy,energy storageand/or data centerspreferred.
Adeep understanding oflegislative andregulatorypolicymaking anda track recordof successfully influencinglegislative and regulatorypolicydecisions. In addition, this position requiresextensive knowledge oftheU.S.statelegislative and regulatory environmentas it pertains to the energy sector. Knowledge ofthedatacenterlegislative and regulatory environmentand RTO/ISO regulatory environmentispreferred.
