What Your Impact Is:
Lead end-to-end delivery of complex environmental projects and proposals, including EAs/EISs, permitting, management plans, and regulatory strategies
Translate client objectives into clear execution plans—aligning scope, budget, timelines, and team resources
Partner with senior client stakeholders to understand priorities, manage risks, and deliver practical, defensible solutions
Ensure strong project controls across financial performance, forecasting, invoicing, and risk management
Drive business growth by identifying opportunities, shaping pursuits, and supporting proposal development
Mentor and develop project managers and technical teams, strengthening ERM’s delivery capability
Foster collaboration across ERM’s national and global network
Champion a culture of health, safety, quality, and environmental stewardship
What You’ll Bring:
Required
Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, or a related field; advanced degree is an asset
6+ years of consulting experience in environmental or related technical disciplines, with progressive responsibility for complex project delivery
Demonstrated experience in the mining and/or energy sectors, including regulatory-driven capital projects
Proven ability to provide senior-level oversight of complex environmental scopes across multiple projects and clients
Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and time-management skills in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments
Ability to work independently while aligning with ERM governance, quality, and risk management expectations
Demonstrated proficiency in project management practices, including change management, risk management, quality management, and financial controls
Strong financial acumen, including budget oversight, forecasting, invoicing, and performance management
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and familiarity with project management tools and reporting
Driver's License Required: This position requires a valid driver's license and/or the ability to operate a company vehicle due to the nature of job duties, which include frequent travel to various client locations across a large geographical area.
Preferred
8+ years of consulting experience preferred in environmental or related technical disciplines, with progressive responsibility for complex project delivery
Experience developing and managing complex project schedules, including dependencies and critical path analysis
Proficiency with scheduling and tracking tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6, Smartsheet)
Experience overseeing environmental, regulatory, permitting, and/or field programs across disciplines
Field experience (e.g., wildlife, terrestrial ecology, soils, wetlands, aquatic biology, hydrology) to support oversight and review
Experience identifying client opportunities and influencing pursuit strategy, scope, and commercial positioning
PMP or equivalent project management certification
Bilingual in English and French and/or Spanish
Key Responsibilities:
Provide senior leadership across multiple concurrent projects, ensuring delivery meets scope, schedule, budget, quality, and safety expectations
Act as the primary point of accountability from proposal through execution and final delivery
Lead, mentor, and develop project teams, fostering accountability and career growth
Champion health, safety, and risk management across all projects
Build and maintain strong client relationships, managing expectations and resolving issues proactively
Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and subcontractors to deliver high-quality technical outputs
Oversee financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, invoicing, and cost control
Develop and manage integrated project schedules, resourcing plans, and delivery strategies
Support business development efforts, including opportunity identification, proposal development, and client expansion
Contribute to team growth, including hiring, retention, performance management, and continuous improvement
Drive collaboration across ERM’s global network and share best practices
Provide senior-level review of technical analysis and deliverables to ensure quality and defensibility

For thePrincipal Consultant, Senior Project Manager (Environmental Assessment) position, theanticipatedannual base pay is$110,779–$147,235(CAD). Actual pay will depend on factors such as education, experience, skills, location, performance, and business needs. In some cases, pay may fall outside this range. This role may be eligible for bonus pay (casual and fixed term/flex force employees arenot bonuseligible).
