Major Duties
At the full performance level (GS-05) the major duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following: Serve as a front-line, uniformed representative of the NPS, answering visitor questions and explaining the area's recreational opportunities, including NPS interpretive services, concession operated facilities and services, campground availability, hiking trails, etc. Perform assignments in accordance with all NPS and U.S. Treasury regulations governing the handling of government funds Troubleshoot issues with fee program related technologies and equipment that include hardware, software, and peripheral devices such as hand-held devices, computers, point-of-sale (POS) equipment, registers, tablets, mobile phones, scanning devices, AFMs, and reservation systems. Prepare and complete remittance reports and bank deposits for funds donated and/or collected by others. Review shift reports and count funds collected; Investigate and proactively resolve routine or recurring discrepancies, and track overages, shortages, and errors. Inventory and/or restock fee program supplies and assist with placing orders and preparing requisition requests for equipment/supplies as needed.
