Position Overview
An Associate, Project Community Affairs will support local outreach and act as relationship lead with county/municipal officials, local taxing bodies, chambers and Economic Development Organizations where Invenergy has a development presence. You will support the department with the development of renewable energy projects throughout the United States.

Responsibilities
Represent the Project and/or Invenergy in meetings with county/municipal officials, local taxing bodies, landowners, and other local and state stakeholders and in public meetings hosted by the project.
Understand and explain benefits of projects to host community members.
Support the Project Community Affairs team in negotiations to obtain certain county and municipal approvals required for project development.
Support development and implementation of a structured community relations program to support Invenergy’s planned developments and operating projects Work with the Invenergy Communications, Government Affairs, and Impact teams to ensure the project’s community relations plan aligns with company priorities and partnerships.
Manage tasks according to budgets and schedules, including coordinating internal and external technical support and assist in project budgeting and scheduling based on local public engagement needs.
Monitor local messaging and develop relationships and educate key individuals to neutralize or mitigate the spread of misinformation.
Coordinate with local counties and government groups.
Work closely with developers on strategy surrounding community engagement/external relations from initial outreach to construction
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree.
3+ years of relevant experience in agriculture, construction, development or related fields.
Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer visa sponsorship now or in the future.
Valid Driver's License.
Ability to spend approximately 50% of time traveling.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with local political and stakeholder engagement (preferably in rural areas).
A strong understanding of the development process of clean and renewable energy projects.
Strong organizational, networking, leadership, time management, and accounting skills.
Strong public speaking and personal skills.
Ability to write effective, concise reports.
