Position Overview
The Moovair / Elios Controls & Applications Specialist is a senior technical role responsible for supporting, designing, validating, and troubleshooting HVAC control strategies and system applications across the Moovair and Elios product portfolios. The role bridges product management, engineering, technical support, training, and field execution to ensure systems are correctly applied, commissioned, and supported.
This position requires a highly technical, hands-on professional with strong controls knowledge, system integration experience, and the ability to support internal teams, contractors, and partners across Canada. Regular national travel approximately 10%.
What you will accomplish with us:
Controls & System Applications
- Serve as the subject matter expert for Moovair / Elios control systems, sequences of operation, and system architecture.
- Support application, configuration, and validation of control strategies for ducted, ductless, and multizone systems.
- Review wiring diagrams, control logic, and installations to ensure proper application and performance.
- Support integration with thermostats, accessories, IAQ components, and third-party/BMS controls.
- Provide pre-commissioning guidance and support complex troubleshooting.
Technical Support & Field Escalations
- Act as a senior escalation resource for controls and system behavior issues.
- Support on remote diagnostics, root cause analysis, and corrective action for recurring issues.
- Collaborate with regional Technical Support Services, Product Management, and suppliers.
- Provide guidance for retrofit, standard, non-standard applications.
Product, Engineering & Training Support
- Support product launches, validation testing, and field trials.
- Feed structured field insights into product improvements and documentation.
- Assist in defining control requirements and best-practice application guidelines.
- Support development of training and commissioning materials.
What You Bring to Our Team:
Required Qualifications
Technical Background
- Strong background in HVAC systems, controls, and applications.
- Proven experience with control strategies, system logic, and electrical schematics.
- Strong understanding of inverter-driven heat pumps, ducted/ductless systems, and multizone applications.
- Ability to interpret wiring diagrams, control schematics, sequences of operation, and technical documentation.
Experience
- 7+ years of progressive experience in HVAC technical support, applications engineering, controls, or commissioning.
- Strong field experience diagnosing real-world HVAC installations.
- Experience with manufacturers, wholesalers, or large contractor networks is an asset.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently on complex technical issues.
- Clear communicator with technical and non-technical audiences.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities.
- Confident presenter and trainer.
Education & Certifications (Preferred)
- Diploma or degree in HVAC, mechanical engineering technology, electronics, or a related field.
- HVAC, electrical, or controls trade background considered a strong asset.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., refrigeration license, controls training) are an asset.
