The Material Flow Engineer supports the material flow engineering team in the planning and deployment of in-plant logistics systems, processes, and material handling/storage infrastructure. This role focuses on analyzing and optimizing logistics flows from inbound truck parking bay to internal/external warehouses, dock to marketplace, kitting, sequencing/auto call systems, and lineside parts feeding strategies. The Engineer contributes to lean, agile, and cost-effective solutions that enable seamless production and operational excellence. The ideal candidate brings strong engineering expertise and proven ability to work with key stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
You Will:
- Collaborate with a high-performing logistics engineering team to analyze, design, and optimize in-plant logistics systems including warehousing, transportation, and distribution.
- Lead strategic initiatives such as network design, capacity planning, cost-to-serve modeling, and logistics performance improvements.
- Design and refine warehouse layouts, material handling systems, and logistics flows using AutoCAD, simulation tools, and engineering analysis.
- Evaluate and implement automation technologies (e.g., conveyors, ASRS, AGVs, robotics) to boost productivity and throughput.
- Partner with cross-functional teams—operations, IT, procurement, and 3PLs—to align logistics strategies across the organization.
- Manage RFPs and infrastructure investments for logistics assets, including new site development and facility expansion.
- Analyze logistics data and KPIs to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Drive lean logistics initiatives and support Kaizen events and Six Sigma projects.
- Support new product introductions, plant launches, and business expansions with scalable logistics solutions.
- Ensure logistics operations comply with safety standards, environmental regulations, and corporate policies.
You Bring:
- Bachelors degree in Software Engineering, Information Systems Engineering, Computer and Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering and 5 years of professional experience
- 4–7 years of experience in the automotive industry or material flow engineering.
- At least 1–2 years of experience in a supervisory or team lead role.
- Proven ability to design and optimize material flow systems.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing systems such as TPS and WCM.
- Exposure to automation technologies and logistics data analysis.
- Strong engineering and team coordination experience.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, global environment.
- A proactive, solution-oriented mindset with attention to detail.
- Strong negotiation and vendor management capabilities.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
