Summary
This position is located in Denali National Park and Preserve, in the Visitor and Resource Protection Division and is the park's Emergency Services Coordinator and Paramedic providing advanced emergency medical/patient. Career-Seasonal appointments are permanent positions and include the same benefits as Career appointments, but do not provide work on a year-round basis. You will work from approximately 10 months, and you will be in a non-pay status for the remainder of the year.
Major Duties
The major duties of the Paramedic position include, but are not limited to, the following: Respond to medical emergencies by vehicle, boat, helicopter, fixed wing aircraft or foot, involving injured and ill persons, ranging from minor medical to life threatening emergencies. Provides both basic and advanced life support measures in an out of hospital/field setting. Coordinates the park's Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and Search and Rescue (SAR) programs. Maintains oversight of program readiness by tracking responder certifications, coordinating training, and ensuring personnel meet qualification requirements for emergency response operations. Manages emergency response equipment and resources to ensure operational readiness. Serves as the first-line supervisor for up to six seasonal employees. Performs supervisory duties less than 20% of the tiem.
