Summary
These positions are located in Whiskeytown National Recreation Area, in the Resources Division. The typical seasonal entry-on-duty period for Whiskeytown National Recreation Area is April - June but can be variable during these months due to weather conditions, project needs, or funding. Anticipated Entry on Duty: June 2026. Open to the first 125 applicants or until 05/27/2026 whichever comes first. Major Duties
Major Duties include: Perform routine biological science tasks to supoort aquatic resource monitoring and management. Follow instructions and standardized procedures to collect, organize, and record freshwater observations and data. Operate, inspect, and maintain aquatic equipment and watercraft Use computer programs to compile, store, retrieve, analyze, and report data. Provide information to other employees and visitors about natural resource management. Physical Demands: The work is partially sedentary with prolonged standing, walking, and bending often required. Heavy items (e.g., packs and equipment up to 50 pounds) must be lifted and carried on a routine basis Working Conditions: The work is performed in an office, laboratory, and in the field. Field work includes exposure to extreme weather conditions and terrain, pesticides, poisonous plants, biting insects, and wild animals. Laboratory work may involve exposure to hazardous chemicals.
