Position Summary
The Solarcraft Inside Sales Representative is responsible for managing inbound and outbound sales activity, developing quotes, supporting internal and external customers through the buying process, and driving annual revenue growth goals. This role sits at the center of sales execution—owning opportunities from first contact through order entry while coordinating closely with project management, engineering, labor estimating, operations, and field service. This is a performance-driven role that rewards follow-up discipline, technical understanding, and accountability.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage assigned accounts and inbound opportunities from inquiry through referrals, existing accounts and new internet leads.
- Generate and follow up on quotes, pricing revisions, scope clarifications, and change orders.
- Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly booking targets of the team.
- Serve as a point of contact for customers during the sales cycle in support of assign outside sales rep.
- Understand customer requirements and translate them into clear scopes.
- Maintain regular follow-up cadence on open quotes weekly review with sales leadership team and outside reps (“must-touch” discipline).
- Build long-term customer relationships through reliability and responsiveness.
- Prepare accurate quotes using internal tools, pricing models, and BOMs.
- Coordinate with engineering, estimating, and operations on scope and lead time feasibility.
- Enter and manage sales orders, revisions, and documentation.
- Ensure handoff accuracy from sales to project management.
- Maintain accurate opportunity data, confidence levels, and close dates.
- Track pipeline health and forecast expected revenue.
- Identify stalled opportunities and take corrective action.
- Provide management with clear visibility into pipeline and risks.
- Work closely with Engineering, Field service, and Operations teams.
- Align scope, pricing, and schedule expectations before commitment.
- Support continuous improvement of sales processes and templates.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of Inside Sales or technical sales experience (industrial, energy, construction, or manufacturing preferred)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in pricing and documentation.
- Comfortable managing multiple opportunities simultaneously.
- Proficient with CRM systems, quoting tools, and Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to understand technical concepts and ask the right questions.
- Experience with engineered-to-order products or services.
- Background in power, solar, industrial controls, or field services.
- Familiarity with margins, cost structures, and quoting discipline.
