We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Solar Design Engineer to join our growing renewable energy team based in Zambia. This role is ideal for a professional with strong technical expertise in solar PV system design and a working proficiency in Afrikaans.

Duties & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

Design and develop solar PV systems (residential, commercial, and/or utility-scale)
Perform site assessments, system sizing, and energy yield analysis
Prepare detailed engineering drawings and technical documentation
Collaborate with project managers, installers, and clients to ensure optimal system performance
Ensure compliance with local regulations, standards, and safety requirements
Provide technical support during installation and commissioning phases

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field
Proven experience in solar PV design and engineering
Proficiency in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, PVsyst, Helioscope or similar)
Strong understanding of electrical systems and grid integration
Fluency in Afrikaans (spoken and written) is essential
Good communication and problem-solving skills
Willingness to be based in Zambia
