Summary
This position is located in Acadia National Park, in the Management Division.
Major Duties
Serves as the subject matter expert and principal advisor responsible for planning, developing, directing and coordinating a safety/occupational and environmental health program. Evaluates, compiles and analyzes behavioral, work environment, and accident statistical data, and prepares charts, tables and reports to communicate this information to management, staff, and others. Coordinates and oversees the development of education and training material and conducts training programs for managers, supervisors, staff, and park concessionaires. Coordinates and/or conducts annual inspections and ensures that programs are current and compatible with all Occupational Safety and Health, Public Risk Management, and Environmental Health laws, regulations, policies, directives, and guidance. Provides guidance to and/or leads teams in investigating accidents to help identify chain of events, root causes, corrective actions, recommendations for improvement and follow-up to ensure corrective action has been taken.
