These positions are located in Acadia National Park in the Maintenance Division. The typical seasonal period is April to October, but can be variable during these months due to weather conditions, project needs, or funding. Anticipated Entry on Duty: April 2026
Major Duties
This is an open continuous vacancy announcement. Applicants will be referred periodically throughout the announcement period. Final application disposition will be completed once all positions have been filled or the announcement reaches the end of the open period stated in the announcement. The first cut-off date is Monday February 23rd, 2026, 11:59 pm (EST). NOTE: OPM has identified this position as eligible for an exception to the typical 1039 hours limit. This exception allows up to 1560 hours which may extend the season dates noted in the Summary above. See additional information section for details. Performs janitorial duties for campground restrooms. Operates heavy power equipment such as lawn mowers, UTVs, leaf blowers and a variety of hand tools, to maintain buildings, grounds, roads, trails, etc. Loads and unloads supplies and materials from trucks, trailers, dollies, etc. Rakes and waters lawns, trims trees and shrubbery, picks up litter, and cleans fire pits.
