About the role | Ngā kōrero mō te tūranga
We have an opportunity for an Environmental Health Coordinator to join our Development & Regulatory Group.
This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in coordinating the delivery of contracted environmental health services while also leading quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives that directly impact community wellbeing.
Your work will help strengthen food safety standards and contribute to reducing alcohol-related harm supporting safer, healthier outcomes for our city.
This is a full-time role, 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday.
Your focus in this role will include:
- Coordinating the day-to-day delivery of contracted environmental health services, ensuring work is planned, prioritised, and delivered effectively
- Acting as a key link between Council and service providers, supporting strong communication and performance
- Leading and support quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives, using feedback from PNCC licence holders and stakeholders
- Monitoring contract performance, service delivery, and compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements

You are an organised and proactive coordinator who enjoys working across teams and improving how services are delivered.
What you will bring:
- Experience in coordination, administration, or contract support roles
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and keep things moving
- Strong communication skills and confidence working with diverse stakeholders
- Competency in data management software programs
- Attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality outcomes
- A continuous improvement mindset and interest in quality assurance practices
- The ability to analyse information and identify opportunities to improve services
- Experience in public service or the hospitality sector would be advantageous
