Lead Structural Engineer for Offshore Wind

Due to our continued success and growth, we are searching for an experienced Lead Structural Engineer to be a part of the Wood Thilsted team and to support the future development of the company with specific focus on the APAC Region.
You will be based in our office in Seoul, South Korea and will be working closely together with our engineering teams across the region and with the global delivery teams in Europe.
Areas of accountability: As Lead Structural Engineer, your main assignment will be to support execution of major WTG and OSS foundation design projectsin the APAC Region and to support the continued development of our business in South Korea.
In your role you will:
- Be the main client contact for Structural Engineering technical queries in South Korea and provide technical leadership for offshore wind projects across APAC.
- Work closely together with our Head of APAC and our Country Manager in South Korea to build and maintaintrusting client relations and to promote our offshore wind business service offering.You will play a part in developing our strong network in the industry.
- Develop and support structural teams across our offices in APAC with the aim to establish independent centres of excellence for design of offshore foundation structures.
- Support technical integration across disciplines during both project execution and in the tendering phase as part of our global delivery team
- Work closely with engineering teams, engaging in technical topics and key design decision making.
- Support senior management in WT and be a role model for delivering integrated services aligned with the project context and the needs and expectations of the client.
The primary work location will in Seoul, South Korea, with the opportunity to spend a portion of your week working from home. You should expect some travelling in relation to your work.
Your background:
Thriving in an international environment, with a strong drive to deliver and improve, you will take the initiative and responsibility for the variety of assignments Wood Thilsted can offer. Motivated by creating excellent results through teamwork, you will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, be fluent in English, and use these to liaise with clients and other consultants effectively.
You have10+ years of experience with design of foundations for offshore wind with international clients. Preferably you have experience with detailed design of both monopiles and jacket structures.
Furthermore, it is an advantage if youhave:
- A degree (MSc or PhD)in Civil, Structural, Mechanical Engineering or a related field relevant for offshore wind.
- Broad technical knowledge of sector-specific engineering challenges in the APAC Region.
- Proven experience in offshore wind design services as an Owner’s Engineer, Technical Advisor or EPC designer.
- Solid understanding of commercial and financial issues in the winning and execution of professional services projects.
- Track record of senior stakeholder engagement and client relationship management.
- Very strong decision-making skills and judgement capabilities to balance and prioritise competing requirements.
- A well-organised mindset, which can adapt to the dynamic needs of a high-growth company.
- Fluent English skills. Proficiency in Korean would be considered an advantage but is not a requirement.
