About the Position
Job Brief
We are looking for a General Laborer to join our growing team. This position reports to the Construction Services Supervisor or Manager. General Laborers are assigned to “general clean-up” duties within the production and grinding operations. This position is required to follow a similar schedule to our production and grinding operations (Slow Season 6am to 4:30pm M-F [occasional Saturdays], Busy Season 6am to 6:30pm Monday-Saturday). We expect general laborers to perform general clean-up tasks in a safe and professional manner and to maintain a professional demeaner when engaging with customers and coworkers.
A successful candidate for this position will ensure that work is completed safely, on schedule and as directed. The right individual will be self-motivated, a strong collaborator/communicator, able to think creatively and to work with others to find solutions, drive production, and produce quality results. Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general clean-up duties within the yard production area and/or grinding field sites.
- Safely and efficiently operate equipment such as skid steers, tractors, lawn mowers, and weed-eaters (training provided if needed)
- Conduct basic equipment inspections, and report maintenance needs
- Report all accidents and injuries, regardless of severity.
- Follow all standard operating procedures and processes related to general clean-up duties within the production and job-site area.
- Safety gear is required and expected to be always worn (safety toe shoes/boots, vest, hard hat, & gloves)
- Assume other duties and responsibilities as required or assigned by management.
QualificationsQualifications & Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work +/- 60 hours per week to include Saturdays with overtime (hours not guaranteed)
- Skidsteer, tractor and mower experience preferred.
- Bilingual is preferred
- Must pass a drug screen
- Must be able to lift up to 70lbs frequently and involving repetitive motion
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time and walk for short periods
- Must be able to bend and stoop throughout the workday (lifting debris, using shovels, etc.)
- Must be able to climb and descend stairs and ladders
- Must be able to work in outdoor environment with exposure to heat, cold, dust and noise.
- Must be able to travel to different job locations
