Summary
The typical seasonal entry-on-duty period for Statue Of Liberty National Monument is June - January, but can be variable during these months due to weather conditions, project needs, or funding. Anticipated Entry on Duty: June 2026 NOTE: OPM has identified this position as eligible for an exception to the typical 1039 hour season. This exception allows up to 1560 hours which may extend the season dates noted above. See additional information section for details.
Major Duties
The main purpose of these positions are to provide emergency response capabilities to medical emergencies and to provide for the safety and health of park visitors, NPS employees, contractors, concessionaire employees, partners and volunteers. Perform and provide emergency medical assistance in the field and clinic setting Responds to call for service including medical emergencies, first aid, lost person, fire alarms, building evacuations, unattended packages, and rescues. Provides information to visitors, assists with trip itinerary planning and answers general questions. Assists in conducting inspections, reporting hazardous conditions, preparing reports, public health concerns and safety monitoring Conducts Safety training including fire extinguisher, evacuation, basic first aid, emergency medical responder, fire alarm and drills.
