Summary
This is a Supervisory Facility Operations Specialist located at Katmai National Park & Preserve. Career-Seasonal appointments are permanent positions and include the same benefits as Career appointments, but do not provide work on a year-round basis. You will work from approximately a minimum of 24 pay periods not to exceed a maximum of 25 pay periods, and you will be in a non-pay status from approximately 11/29 to 12/12 for the remainder of the year.
Major Duties
MAJOR DUTIES: Serves as the facility management expert in support of park unit management initiatives. Actively involved in decisions affecting overall park management policy and operations and contributes to the development of park management documents. Implements Facility Management Software Systems for cost effective management of assets. Performs and maintains asset inventories and condition assessments for the purpose of maintenance cost for annual and multi-year plans. Determines asset priority index, deferred maintenance costs, current replacement values, and facility condition index. Determines and recommends project scope, goals and objectives, and alternatives for facility modifications when infrastructure capabilities cannot support mission requirements. Evaluates the need for professional consultation and facilitates the coordination for the design, development, review, and evaluation of project documents. Responsible for implementing a current safety and training program to eliminate at-risk behaviors and environments enforcing regulatory policies and mandates. Prepares annual work budget plans for maintenance operations using the NPS financial management programs. Participates in the preparation of Operating Financial System (OFS) requests and identifies program deficiencies. Initiates actions and serves as the liaison for compliance of environmental/cultural issues related to project proposals and park operations recruits and recommends selection of employees. Executes established work plans; establishes work schedules and priorities. Recommends promotions, reassignments and other personnel actions. Approves leave, sets performance standards, and evaluates and awards outstanding performance. Identifies training needs and identifies training opportunities. Resolves complaints or minor grievances and advises employees on matters related to less than satisfactory performance. Actively supports EEO programs and communicates this support to subordinates
