REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND TASKS:
Apply your classroom-learned skills to programs supporting the defense of our country. GDMS has an immediate opening for an Environmental Test Engineering Intern to join our team. The position provides an opportunity to work on projects that support some of our nation’s fundamental defense services. GDMS employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.
The selected candidate will work with collaborative teams on various technical projects associated with our core mission. Environmental Test engineering involves the verification and validation of hardware and systems to ensure they can withstand the rigorous conditions they will encounter in operational environments. This includes testing to military and industry standards (MIL-STD-810, DO-160, etc.).

- Thermal Testing
- Vibration and Shock Testing
- Humidity Testing
- Corrosion Testing
- Altitude Testing
The selected canidate will also be expected to:
- Assist in the planning and execution of environmental tests
- Support the development of test plans and procedures
- Help with data collection, reduction, and analysis
- Assist in writing and test reports and document findings
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Support test setup and configuration of hardware in the lab environment
Preferred Skills & Knowledge:
- Foundational coursework or knowledge in Statics, Dynamics, and Thermodynamics
- Familiarity with engineering software such as MATLAB, CREO, LabVIEW, or similar tools is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow documented test procedures
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Prior lab experience or hands-on project work is a plus but not required
- Identifies opportunities to apply AI for continuous improvement and innovation
