Purpose of the Role
The Director, Investor Practice is responsible for shaping and scaling investor action across Asia to accelerate the transition to a net zero, climate-resilient and nature-positive economies.
This role leads AIGCC’s efforts to:
- Accelerate investor
best practice across Asian markets
- Increase investments and allocation towards
climate transition, resilience and nature
- Strengthen AIGCC’s investor network across Asia and advocate Asian views globally
Key Accountabilities
Designing and delivering various thematic workstreams and collaborate with the Director of Stewardship and Director of Policy for cross-disciplinary projects.
1. Investor Practice & Program Delivery
Design and oversee execution of key workstreams, including:
- Asset Owners – for asset owners across Asia to accelerate understanding and scale climate-related investments
- Nature and Land Use - to support investor engagement on commodity-driven deforestation and nature loss in Asia, and facilitate policy dialogue
- Paris-Aligned Investments - understanding the Asia investor landscape and develop Asia focused implementation guidelines, includingannual progress report of 200+ Asian investors
- Global Investor Initiatives– to drive global alignment via regional adaptation of the Net Zero Investment Framework, Net Zero Asset Managers and Paris Aligned Asset Owner’s programs.
- Oversee market-specific priorities to drive investor practice in Japan, China, Korea, India and Southeast Asian markets.
3. Market Influence & External Engagement
- Position AIGCC as a thought leader and convenor across Asian markets
- Identify research addressing investor needs and market gaps
- Oversee production of flagship annual report on state of investor climate action, along with other reports and insights
- Manage external research partnerships to deliver high-quality, actionable outputs
- Investor outreach, regular briefings and/or webinars on key topics to build the capacity of investor members and increase participation in various investor practice workstreams
- Promote AIGCC’s vision and goals through multiple communication channels, including representing
AIGCC in forums and public events, as .
4. Management & Leadership
- Develop and lead AIGCC’s Investor Practice Strategy
- Manage and oversee Investor Practice team, and define priorities to maximise impact
- Collaborate with other Directors to identify investor needs
- Grow AIGCC membership and partnerships to scale Investor Practice work.
5. Funding & Strategic Partnerships
- Identify and secure philanthropic and strategic funding to scale investor practice with the Directorate and Philanthropy Manager
- Build long-term partnerships with funders and aligned institutions
Qualifications & Experience
- 15+ years’ experience in investment, finance, or related fields, ideally with climate or sustainability focus
- Strong understanding of investments and Asian capital markets is a must
- Experience leading complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives across regions
- Proven ability to operate at strategic and executive levels

- Ability to design, translate, and implement climate ambition
into investment-focused climate

- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
- Strong commercial acumen, including funding and partnership development
- High-level communication, writing, and presentation skills in English in a must, with additional Asian language a plus
- Knowledge and ability to integrate AI tools into daily workflows and projects
- Entrepreneurial ability to lead in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment
