Senior Manager of Environmental Health & Safety

The Senior Manager of Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) for Field Operations is responsible for leading the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of EHS programs that support Forged Fiber 37’s field workforce. This role ensures compliance with all applicable environmental, health, and safety regulations while fostering a proactive safety culture across geographically dispersed teams. The position partners closely with field operations leadership to mitigate risk, enhance employee well-being, and drive operational excellence.
Work Location- Remote in the U.S.
• Develop and execute EHS strategies aligned with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to Field Operations leadership on safety and environmental risk management.
• Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local EHS regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA, DOT).
• Oversee audits, inspections, and incident investigations; ensure corrective actions are implemented.
• Monitor regulatory changes and adapt programs accordingly.
• Partner with field leaders to identify hazards and implement practical safety solutions for technicians and contractors.
• Support safe execution of work involving telecommunications infrastructure, including climbing, confined spaces, electrical hazards, and fleet operations.
• Provide guidance on Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and safe work practices.
Incident Prevention & Investigation
• Lead root cause analyses for incidents, near misses, and environmental events.
• Track and analyze safety performance metrics; develop action plans to address trends.
• Drive initiatives to reduce Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR) and other key indicators.
• Design and deliver EHS training programs for field employees and leadership.
• Ensure workforce competency in safety procedures, emergency response, and regulatory requirements.
• Mentor EHS professionals and field safety champions.
• Manage EHS programs such as working aloft safety, Ladder safety, electrical safety, fleet safety, ergonomics, hazardous materials, and emergency preparedness.
• Oversee contractor safety programs and ensure alignment with company standards.
• Utilize technology and data systems to track compliance and performance.
Stakeholder Collaboration
• Collaborate with HR, Legal, Operations, and external agencies as needed.
• Communicate EHS performance and initiatives to senior leadership.

• 8–12+ years of combined EHS experience, Field experience, and leadership roles.
•Experience supporting field operations, utilities, telecommunications, or similar industries.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other applicable regulations.
Certifications (Preferred):
• CSP (Certified Safety Professional), CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist), or equivalent.
• Strong leadership and influencing skills across diverse, distributed teams.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Effective communication and training skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in EHS management systems and data analytics tools.
• Frequent travel to field sites and operational locations.
• Exposure to outdoor environments and field conditions.
• Ability to support emergency response activities as needed.
This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.
Location Based Pay Ranges:$100,000-$160,000 Annually
