Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret Plans: Study blueprints, sketches, and engineering drawings to understand project requirements.
- Prepare Materials: Clean, cut, and position metal parts, securing them with clamps or jigs.
- Weld Components: Fuse metal pieces using arc, MIG, TIG, or other methods, often working in different positions (flat, horizontal, vertical, overhead).
- Inspect & Finish: Check welds for flaws, grind, and polish surfaces to ensure quality and a smooth finish.
- Operate Equipment: Use torches, plasma cutters, power tools, and specialized welding machines.
- Safety Compliance: Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow strict safety regulations.
- Maintenance: Maintain and troubleshoot welding equipment.
Essential Skills & Knowledge:
- Proficiency with various welding techniques (MIG, TIG, Stick).
- Ability to read welding symbols and technical drawings.
- Understanding of metallurgy, material properties, and heat dynamics.
- Precision, attention to detail, and strong hand-eye coordination.
- Physical strength and stamina for demanding work environments.
