Major Duties
This position is duty stationed at the Natchez Trace Parkway Headquarters in Tupelo, MS. Tupelo, MS is located in northeast Mississippi and was designated an All-American City. It serves as a regional hub for the area and has a moderate climate. Tupelo has a population of approximately 35,000, and has a regional airport. It is located 90 miles from Memphis, TN and 300 miles from the Mississippi Gulf Coast. The primary purpose of this position is to provide dispatch support to the Parkway law enforcement rangers. The Natchez Trace Parkway has a high volume law enforcement program and dispatchers provide a critical safety component to the program. The selectee should be NCIC/NLETS certified, be in possession of Association of Public Safety Dispatcher Certification, and be familiar with a Computer Aided Dispatch System. The Parkway's Communication Center was completed in 2016, and the radio system was upgraded this year. Parkway Dispatchers use the Computer Information Systems Inc, CAD system.
