Summary
This position is located in Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve, in the Visitor Resource Protection Division. Open to the first 100 applicants or 04/28/2026whichever comes first. All applications submitted by 11:59 (EST) on the closing day will receive consideration.
Major Duties
As a Supervisory Park Ranger (Protection), you will perform the following duties: Represents the Chief Ranger at public and private meetings and administering contracts and permits. Detects, investigates, apprehends, detains, and prosecutes individuals suspected or convicted of offences. Directs, plans, operates, and supervises visitor and resource protection activities. Supervises and directs the operational activities which include law enforcement; visitor and resource protection; visitor use; emergency services; visitor services; statistical surveys, and preparation and crime prevention. Develops and implements annual, multi-year, long-range law enforcement operational plans. Develops work schedules, changes schedules, approve assignments for special details. Prepares and develops special regulation/polices affecting park operations. Prepares and tracks for the patrol functions annual budget.
