Brief description of the position:
Goal of this position is to purchase parts related to battery cell, system and other components for VW Group in China Region (e.g. VWA and VWAC). In doing so the position needs to consider requirements on timing, quality, technology and costs. Furthermore the regional alignment is crucial as well as localization enhancement, cost optimization and innovation promotion.
Key Tasks:
- Source and nominate qualified supplier for battery cell, system and other battery components, incl. support in RfQ preparation, make sourcing strategy, negotiate with suppliers, create/present decision proposal in decision committee.
- Define and implement sourcing & supplier strategy of battery cell, system and other battery components.
- Conduct cost analysis, global sourcing and benchmark for continues cost optimization.
- Scouting, develop and qualify suppliers to build up and improve supplier system, conduct continues supplier (relationship) management.
- Prepare, implement and negotiate contractual documents.
- Coordinate and solve supplier’s delivery/goods quality/capacity problem to ensure series production.
- Regularly analyze and benchmark upstream and downstream market situation in battery industry, proposing better solutions to VW group by analyzing competitors and markets in region China.
Qualification and skills required for the position:
- Education:
Bachelor or above degree (major in engineering, business / project management, economics preferred).
