About Impact Investment Exchange (IIX)
IIX (Impact Investment Exchange) is a Singapore-headquartered pioneer in impact investing — building the infrastructure where capital markets meet sustainable development. Over 15+ years, IIX has built the sustainable investing market across four pillars: capital mobilisation, enterprise technical assistance, data and impact measurement, and global advocacy.
Our flagship initiatives include the Women’s Livelihood Bond™ Series (7 listed bonds and growing), IIX Values™ (impact verification technology), IIX Intelligence™ (a global data hub benchmarking MSMEs on ESG, gender, and climate performance), and the Orange Movement™ — a new asset class at the intersection of gender equality and climate action. Together, these represent nearly US$1.5 billion in capital mobilised, 185 million+ lives positively impacted, 1.9 million metric tons of carbon avoided, and 116,000+ data points collected on sustainable MSMEs.
Recognised by the Oslo Business for Peace Award and the UN Global Climate Action Award, IIX is a lean, mission-obsessed team. Everyone here wears multiple hats, moves fast, and cares deeply about the work. If that energises you, you will thrive at IIX.
About the role
We are seeking a highly driven and independent professional to join the CEO’s Office, working on Strategic Initiatives that are high-priority, cross-cutting, and central to organizational direction. This role requires a rare combination of strategic thinking, strong execution, and professional maturity. The individual will operate as an extension of leadership: managing new initiatives, engaging external partners, and translating high-level priorities into structured action.
The Senior Associate in the Strategic Initiatives - CEO’s team is a high-impact, high-ownership role for someone who thrives at the intersection of new concept development, organizational strategy, and cross-functional execution. You will serve as an extension of the CEO - driving strategic initiatives, enabling high-quality decision-making, and amplifying IIX's voice in the global impact investing space.
This is not a traditional support role. It is designed for an intellectually curious, execution-oriented professional who can navigate ambiguity, operate with minimal hand-holding, and switch hats across projects.
Key Responsibilities
CEO & CEO’s Office Support
- Support the Strategic Initiatives team and the CEO’s Office in managing and delivering on high-priority workstreams and organisational commitments.
- Prepare high-quality written outputs — briefing notes, presentations, reports, and correspondence — for the CEO’s internal and external engagements.
- Support client and stakeholder engagement: preparing meeting briefs, participating in meetings, and managing follow-ups with rigour.
- Contribute to IIX’s research outputs, knowledge products, and thought leadership pieces linked to strategic priorities.
Organisational Strategy
- Assist in translating strategic directions into structured workstreams, trackers, and action plans that teams can execute against.
- Coordinate across internal teams to align inputs, monitor progress, and surface blockers on organisation-wide priorities.
- Support the preparation of strategy documents, organisational planning materials, and internal reporting.
- Help the CEO’s Office maintain a clear line of sight across IIX’s evolving portfolio of initiatives and commitments.
New Concept & Initiative Development
- Support the scoping and development of new ideas and initiatives emerging from the CEO’s Office — from first principles to structured proposal.
- Structure early-stage concepts into proposals, frameworks, or workplans ready for internal review or external pitching.
- Conduct research and analysis to inform the development of new programmes, products, and strategic directions across sectors.
- Identify new markets, partnership opportunities, and funding mechanisms that advance IIX’s mission in sustainable and inclusive finance.
Business Development & External Partnerships
- Support the identification and cultivation of new institutional partnerships, donor relationships, and co-investment opportunities.
- Develop proposals, pitch decks, and programme frameworks for new business opportunities aligned with IIX’s strategy.
- Help build and maintain IIX’s external profile through targeted engagement with development finance institutions, impact investors, and multilateral organisations.
- Track IIX’s partnership pipeline and ensure follow-through on key relationships and commitments.
What We’re Looking For
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience in a top-tier consulting firm, financial institution, development finance organisation, or impact-focused environment.
- Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, International Development, Public Policy, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated ability to develop high-quality written outputs — proposals, grant applications, research reports, briefing notes, or strategy documents.
- Strong analytical and structured thinking skills — able to work with both qualitative frameworks and quantitative data.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; able to distil complex ideas into clear, compelling narratives for senior audiences.
- Proven ability to operate as a self-starter with minimal supervision, managing multiple workstreams under time pressure.
- Experience supporting or managing components of projects or initiatives in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
Preferred & Desired
- Demonstrated knowledge of gender equality, social inclusion, or climate action — particularly with an intersectional lens.
- Familiarity with inclusive finance, impact investing, blended finance, or ESG frameworks.
- Cross-sectoral exposure spanning climate, infrastructure, development finance, or impact capital markets.
- International work experience — IIX’s work spans Asia, Africa, and beyond, and comfort with diverse geographies matters.
The Person
- Intellectually curious — you ask the questions others haven’t thought to ask, and you go deep before you go wide.
- Execution-oriented — you close the loop, follow through, and take pride in the quality of everything that leaves your hands.
- Comfortable with ambiguity — you can structure a problem from scratch and move forward without needing every answer upfront.
- Genuinely mission-driven — you believe finance can be a powerful force for good, and that belief shapes how you work.
- Mature and professionally grounded — you exercise sound judgment, respect organisational hierarchy, and know when to lead and when to support.
- A collaborator and a self-starter in equal measure — you work well across teams and take full ownership of what’s yours.
