DescriptionOur client URGENTLY requires a Senior Environmental Officer for 24 months + Contract in Nerang.
The Senior Environmental Officer will provide specialist environmental advice regarding implementation of environmental assessments, legislation, compliance and management during all phases of the program of works. This will include the review of project design, environmental surveys, spatial data, Public Environment Report (PER) and the development of Environmental Management Plans (EMPs), contract specifications, audits and briefs.
Responsibilities include:
- Deliver high level advice on the statutory obligations of all relevant environmental legislation including requirements of the Commonwealth's Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (EPBC Act).
- Assist with the delivery of Commonwealth and State environmental approvals and offsets as necessary.
- Provide guidance on the scope and direction of project activities as well as being a key advisor to project management teams with regards to environmental issues and risks to project delivery.
- Provide advice in relation to ministerial correspondence and briefing notes as directed for the Regional Director and/or Regional Office as required.
Government experience would be highly advantageous.
