Job Title – Sustainability Assistant (Outsourced)
Job Purpose
The Sustainability Assistant will support the Bank in developing and implementing its sustainability and ESG framework in alignment with the Qatar Central Bank (QCB) sustainability agenda and the Qatar National Vision 2030.
The role focuses on assisting the Head of Sustainability unity and the external sustainability consultant in integrating sustainability principles into the Bank’s operations, reporting, and governance structures.
This position plays a key role in coordinating sustainability-related initiatives across departments, gathering and managing data, preparing reports and presentations, and promoting awareness of sustainability practices within the Bank.
Key Responsibilities
- Framework Implementation and Coordination
- Support the ongoing sustainability framework project in coordination with the external consultants.
- Assist in the development and rollout of sustainability policies, procedures, and governance structures.
- Maintain project timelines, deliverables, and documentation for sustainability initiatives.
- Coordinate sustainability committee meetings and internal working group sessions.
- Collect, verify, and maintain sustainability and ESG-related data from relevant departments.
- Assist in preparing QCB sustainability disclosures, internal progress reports, and external communications.
- Support preparation of presentations and documents for senior management and regulators.
- Serve as a central point of contact for sustainability matters within the Bank.
- Liaise with internal departments, the external consultants, and relevant external parties (e.g., QCB, rating agencies, auditors).
- Support awareness sessions, workshops, and communication initiatives to promote sustainability culture across the Bank.
- Draft and edit internal communications, memos, and reports in both Arabic and English.
- Collaborate to integrate sustainability and climate-related risk considerations into the Bank’s risk management processes.
- Track and follow up on sustainability KPIs and progress indicators.
Qualifications and Experience
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in one of the following fields (or equivalent experience):
- Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or Accounting ,Environmental Studies, Sustainability, or Social Sciences
- Risk Management, Compliance, or related disciplines .
- Professional certificates in sustainability, ESG, or climate risk management are desirable but not mandatory.
Experience
Preferred: 2–5 years of experience in sustainability, ESG reporting, corporate responsibility, risk management, or related fields in banking, consulting, or corporate settings.
Acceptable: Candidates with limited direct experience but strong intellectual capability, language skills, and motivation to develop in sustainability will be considered.
Experience in coordination, report writing, data management, or stakeholder engagement is advantageous.
