Education: Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, environmental science, environmental studies, hydrology, hydrogeology, mine engineering, ecology, or a related field is required.
Experience: A minimum of seven (7) years of direct experience in managing environmental compliance programs and permitting projects, with at least three (3) years in a supervisory role is required.
Permitting Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of Federal and State permitting processes (e.g., NEPA) is required.
Compliance Systems: Familiarity with environmental compliance systems and ISO 14001 is required.
Communication Skills: Ability to summarize and effectively communicate complex issues concisely is required.
Technical Skills: Strong computer skills are required.
Interpersonal Skills: Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal skills are required.
Project Management: Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously is required.
Relationship Building: Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders is required.
Continuous Improvement: Capability to identify and implement opportunities for improvement is required.
GIS Proficiency: Proficient GIS skills are strongly preferred.
Mining Knowledge: General understanding of mining operations is preferred.
Results-Oriented: Ability to drive results and ensure completion of time-sensitive deadlines is required.
Outdoor Work: Willingness and ability to work outdoors year-round in all weather conditions is required.
