SUMMARY
The CDL-A Driver is responsible for driving company related equipment to pick up, load, unload and transport materials in a prompt and safe manner while providing courteous service to customers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (Other duties may be assigned and management retains the discretion to add, delete, or change the duties at any time)
- Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions and ensures vehicle and loading equipment are properly positioned.
- Weighs in material and places it in its designated area.
- Secures cargo for transport using appropriate methods.
- Performs daily pre-trip/post-trip vehicle inspections and reports any safety issues immediately.
- Maintains company equipment inside/out in order to ensure both cleanliness and safety.
- Comply with all federal, state and local laws, regulations, and company driving policies.
- Must have effective communication skills in order to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, and to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Respond to customer complaints, and with respect and consideration.
- Perform additional duties in the warehouse as necessary, including operation of forklifts
- Must be able to interact in person with coworkers and the public
- Must be able to handle high stress situations.

QualificationsPOSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
- CDL - A (required for certain positions)
- Current CDL-B or chauffeur’s license (required for certain positions)
- Minimum 6 months – 1 year related driving experience
- Forklift experience and the ability to become certified in forklift operation
- Acceptable driving record
Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of Internet, spreadsheet and word processing software (Microsoft Office preferred)

- Requires sitting up to 50% of the shift and walking, standing and lifting up to 50% of the shift

- Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, extreme cold and heat and outside weather
- Specific vision requirements include color, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required in the production department and other designated areas.
