Job Summary:
The Dock Worker is responsible for safely unloading and loading tires from inbound shipments and organizing inventory according to company standards. This role requires physical endurance, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced dock environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Unload and load tires from trailers, containers, and delivery trucks using proper lifting techniques
- Sort and separate Passenger vs Truck tires
- Ability to frequently and safely lift and stack tires weighing 75–125 pounds in a fast‑paced environment.
- Ability to perform detailed trailer inspections, identifying structural and safety issues.
- Stack, palletize, and organize tires in designated warehouse or dock locations
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
- Perform light equipment maintenance as needed
- Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of PPE
- Communicate issues such as damaged shipments or irregular loads to supervisors
- Perform other duties as assigned
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy tires repeatedly throughout the shift
- Ability to stand, bend, twist, and work on the feet for extended periods
- Comfortable working in indoor and outdoor dock environments, including varying temperatures
- Experience in handling automotive or commercial tires - preferred
- Basic knowledge of tire condition standards (tread depth, sidewall damage, defects) – preferred
- The ability to work on an Outdoor Dock and warehouse setting
- The ability to work in a Fast-paced, physically demanding work
- Use of personal protective equipment is required
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Prior dock, warehouse, or manual labor experience preferred but not required
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
