Job Summary: The Environmental Health & Safety Manager leads and standardizes safety programs across all operations, including basecamp deployments, fleet, fueling, catering, temporary power, and yard activities. This role serves as the central point of accountability for worker safety, ensuring preparedness for field risks such as hazardous conditions, fuel handling, and incident response during disaster operations, while developing and implementing programs that support safe, compliant operations across all sites. The position also oversees environmental compliance as part of overall operational readiness, including spill prevention, hazardous material management, and site impact considerations, and manages claims, serving as the primary liaison with insurance providers and the Company.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Lead and oversee Company-wide safety programs across all operations, including basecamp deployments, fleet, fueling, catering, temporary power, and yard activities.
· Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, NFPA, and all applicable safety regulations, maintaining a strong culture of safety across all sites.
· Exercise full authority to pause or stop work when unsafe conditions are identified, with immediate escalation to operations leadership for resolution.
· Oversee incident management, including reporting, investigations, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective actions.
· Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments across basecamps, staging yards, and active field operations.
· Train and support field personnel on safety protocols, hazard recognition, and incident response procedures.
· Track, analyze, and report key safety metrics, incident trends, and corrective actions to leadership.
· Lead environmental compliance and planning efforts across all operations, ensuring responsible management of environmental risks..
· Develop and implement spill prevention and response programs, including fuel handling, containment, and environmental protection measures.
· Ensure proper handling and management of environmental factors such as wastewater, hazardous materials, and site impacts during deployments.
· Support environmental readiness for field operations, including preparation for fuel spills and other environmental incidents.
· Coordinate with operations leadership and partner vendors to ensure consistent adherence to environmental standards.
· Serve as the primary EHS lead during deployments and the liaison for insurance, claims, and regulatory matters.
· Support RFPs and client engagements with EHS documentation and compliance narratives.
· Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Carries out supervisory duties in accordance with the Company’s objectives, policies, and applicable laws. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to: planning, assigning, and directing work, interviewing, hiring, training, evaluating performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing employee concerns, and partnering with Human Resources to resolve escalated employee matters.

Education:
· Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from an accredited four-year college or university
Experience:
· Minimum five years of experience in Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) or a related field within construction, utilities, logistics, or disaster response
· Strong working knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and NFPA regulations
· Experience developing and implementing EHS programs across multi-site or field-based operations
· OSHA 30 required; OSHA 500, HAZWOPER, or similar certifications preferred
· Experience working in field-based or remote operational environments with dispersed teams
· Ability to conduct job hazard analyses (JHAs) and field risk assessments
· Proven experience managing incidents, investigations, and corrective actions
· Experience working with subcontractors
· Experience supporting emergency response, storm restoration, or rapid deployment operations preferred
· Experience with environmental compliance, including fuel management, wastewater handling, and spill response preferred
· Experience supporting incident-related claims management and insurance coordination preferred
Technical Skills:
· Computer and Microsoft Office proficiency
· Familiarity with Incident Command System (ICS) environments preferred
· Ability to interpret and apply OSHA, DOT, and environmental regulations in field operations
Soft Skills:
· Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
· Ability to influence and drive safe behaviors across field teams and partner vendors
· Sound judgment and decision-making ability in fast-paced, high-risk field environments
· Ability to adapt and problem-solve effectively in dynamic conditions and shifting priorities
· Ability to lead, train, and reinforce proper work and safety procedures
Physical Requirements:
· Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background and drug testing
· Must have a valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets Company requirements
· Ability to withstand various environmental conditions, such as heat, cold, or humidity, depending on the location
· Ability to walk active job sites, basecamps, and uneven terrain for extended periods
· Ability to wear PPE for extended periods of time, as required
· Ability to work long and unpredictable hours
· Ability to travel up to 50% of the time, including short notice travel, including storm response deployments as needed
