Food Service BOH Catering Leader (Part-time)

The Toledo Zoo Food Service Department is currently seeking a part-time Back of House Catering Leader. Under supervision of the Executive chef and Sous chef, the Back of House Catering Leader will implement policies and procedures designed to provide the guests of the Toledo Zoo with quality food service in a clean and safe environment.
The ideal candidate will produce quality food with a quality experience for everyone involved. Responsibilities will include training and coordinating leaders and crew members, coaching, assisting with administrative duties, supervising food preparation processes, and supervising the cleaning of all food service areas. Will perform additional duties as assigned.
This position reports to the Executive Chef, is non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act and eligible for overtime pay for hours worked over forty (40) in a work week.
Minimum Training and Experience
- Prefer 1-2 years of experience in food service management or combination of education, training, and experience which provides the required skills.
- Possess Ohio Food Handler certification or complete certification course in food service sanitation.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to be insured through Zoo fleet carrier.
- Work scheduled may include weekdays, weekends, and some holidays.
- Have the physical ability to lift 50 pounds and work on their feet for 8 hours a day.
