Food Service Supervisor – BOH Catering (Part-time)

The Toledo Zoo is currently seeking a part-time Food Service Supervisor-BOH Catering. Under supervision of the Executive chef and Sous chef, the Food Service Supervisor-BOH Catering plans, supervises, and coordinates the activities and operations of all Food Service Concessions.
The ideal candidate will produce quality food with a quality experience for everyone involved. Responsibilities will include training and coordinating leaders and crew members, maintaining and tracking inventory and staffing levels, compiling reports, ordering products, monitoring employee performance, and supervising food preparation processes. Will perform additional duties as assigned.
This position reports to the Executive Chef, is non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act and eligible for overtime pay for hours worked over forty (40) in a work week.
Minimum Training and Experience
- Prefer degree in Food Service, or related field with 1-2 years of experience in food service management or combination of education, training, and experience which provides the required skills.
- Possess Ohio Food Handler certification or complete certification course in food service sanitation.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to be insured through Zoo fleet carrier.
- Work scheduled may include weekdays, weekends, and some holidays.
- Have the physical ability to lift 50 pounds and work on their feet for 8 hours a day.
