Zenith Energy (Zenith) is a leading Australian power producer, delivering hybrid power systems to remote, off-grid mining operations across Australia. Its solutions integrate renewable energy sources, including solar, wind, and battery storage, with thermal energy sources (predominantly LNG generation), helping mining operations run more sustainably and reliably.
Zenith is seeking a Mechanical Designer with Advanced Revit Modeling expertise. The role involves creating coordinated 3D models and engineering documentation for multidisciplinary industrial energy projects, power stations, and their associated infrastructure.
About the Role
This position combines a solid understanding of mechanical design with Advanced Revit Modeling Skills, ensuring that plant layouts, piping systems, and equipment arrangements are accurately represented within a structured Building Information Modeling (BIM) environment.
Working closely with the Lead Mechanical Designer, this role contributes to delivering high-quality models and drawings while facilitating the transition from SolidWorks-based workflows to Revit-based BIM processes. Additionally, the Mechanical Designer plays a crucial role in supporting and upskilling the mechanical design team and in implementing modeling standards, templates, and best practices.
Key responsibilities will include.
- Create and maintain Revit MEP models and drawings according to Zenith standards.
- Generate engineering documentation, including general arrangement drawings, equipment layouts, installation drawings, and piping layouts.
- Develop construction-ready models and fabrication-level drawings as needed.
- Ensure models reflect the appropriate level of detail for project stages and follow best practices for structure, integrity, and performance.
- Assist in the coordination of models across mechanical, structural, civil, and electrical disciplines in BIM environments.
- Identify and resolve spatial conflicts and participate in model reviews and coordination meetings.
- Support Autodesk Construction Cloud for model collaboration and manage model publishing and issue tracking.
- Maintain coordinated model packages aligned with project milestones.
- Help establish and maintain Revit modeling standards and workflows, including project templates, view templates, and libraries.
- Ensure adherence to best-practice BIM techniques for Zenith's power station design.
About You
As the Mechanical Designer, you will bring the following experience, knowledge, and skills to the role.
- Minimum 4-6 years’ experience in Revit-based modeling within a mechanical, piping, structural, or multi-disciplinary environment
- Experience coordinating models across multiple engineering disciplines
- Experience working within structured CAD/BIM standards and workflows
- Strong proficiency in Revit, cloud-based modeling experience
- Understanding of mechanical and/or piping design principles
- Ability to manage multi-disciplinary interfaces within 3D models
- Strong attention to detail, data management, and excellent computer literacy
- Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks
- Understanding of Mechanical Installations, manufacturing, and construction.
- Understanding of BIM coordination principles and information maturity
- Awareness of model exchange requirements and interface control
Desirable
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, layouts, and engineering documentation
- Experience in power generation, industrial plant, resources, or infrastructure projects
- Exposure to SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD Plant 3D and/or Advance Steel
- Knowledge of Navisworks and Revit collaborating tools.
- Knowledge of Dynamo or automation tools
Qualifications and Certificates
- Diploma in Engineering, Drafting, or related technical discipline, or equivalent industry experience
- Autodesk Revit Certified Professional (or equivalent)
