Primary Responsibility:
Under minimal supervision, the Battery Technician is responsible for changing and operating the battery changing equipment along with maintaining the Battery Assets.
$19.75 per hour, plus the ability to make $4.00 more per hour attendance incentive!!!
Must be able to work any shift, weekends and holidays.
Essential Functions:
- Conducts the removal and replacement of lift batteries safely.
- Works in battery changing room to facilitate and manage the battery changing process.
- Maintains batteries and chargers in working order in accordance with OSHA Standard.
- Operates Hydra-Handler Sleds and Battery Transfer Units
- Maintain tools and machinery in good condition and use tools and equipment carefully as instructed.
- Maintains and repairs battery cable insulation and connectors.
- Conducts daily/weekly Preventative Maintenance.
- Monitors battery charger status and exercises corrective action as required.
- Disposes of hazardous material in accordance with established OSHA procedures.
- Cleans equipment and work areas for the safety of staff and the maintenance of facility.
- Maintain open communication with management.
- Keep work area clean and perform housekeeping duties as required.
- Comply with Company safety procedures in the workplace.
- Follow attendance policy, show up for work on time and ready to work assigned shift
- Various other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Required:
- Good communications skills and the ability to work well with people.
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment (Hi-lift, RC, Pallet Jack, etc.).
- Considerable knowledge of Safety practices.
- Ability to use a variety of hand and power tools.
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Must be self-motivated and dependable.
- Detail oriented with the ability to multi-task
- Must have basic knowledge of computers
- Must be self-motivated, dependable, and have the ability to work with minimal supervision
- Knowledge of cleaning procedures, cleaning equipment and janitorial techniques
- Ability to work independently
- Must be able to relate to other people beyond giving and receiving instructions: they must get along with co-workers without exhibiting behavioral extremes; perform work activities requiring reasoning, negotiating, instructing, persuading, or speaking with others; and respond appropriately to criticism from a supervisor
