Summary
This position is in the Office of the Regional Administrator-Region 1, Water Division, Water Permits Branch. About Region 1. This is an office-centered position--you must physically report to the duty station stated in this announcement on a regular basis.
Major Duties
You will: Under the general direction of senior leadership, plans, coordinates, and manages municipal, industrial, and storm water permits under Section 402 of the Clean Water Act and associated activities within assigned program areas. Under the general direction of senior leadership, supervises assigned staff by providing guidance and counseling on established policies and procedures; monitors day-to-day compliance and performance; addresses routine employee relations issues; and elevates complex or sensitive matters to higher-level management for decision. Under the general direction of senior leadership, maintains effective working relationships with internal regional and headquarters partners, and with external partners and stakeholders at the local, state, and federal levels, communicates the permit program's positions within established policy, resolves routine coordination issues, and elevates sensitive or cross-cutting matters as appropriate. You will spend less than 25% of your work time on contracts, grants/cooperative agreements, and/or interagency agreements.
